Original Penguin by Munsingwear started out in 1955 in an underwear factory in Minnesota. It began with a simple Polo shirt it soon grew as a classic brand on the golf course and many US golfers were seen sports a Penguin on the chest pocket of their Polo shirt. The range soon grew and various knitwear and jumpers were added including v necks and cardigans. Before long Original Penguin became a classic casual favourite all across the US.

Away from America the brand grew and the Penguin had made his way across Europe and many Fashionable you Italian and Spaniard would be seen wearing the Original Penguin brand.

In the 80s the Casual scene in the UK picked up on Original Penguin and for a few years there’d be scatterings of polo shirts, jumpers and jackets by Penguin across the terraces on a Saturday afternoon. Nowadays Original Penguin is at the forefront of the British fashion seen and im pretty sure most young males across the country own at least one item with a little embodied Penguin logo on the chest.
