Fila was born in Italy in 1911. It wasn’t until 1973 really to be established and then became a firm favourite label on the tennis courts. The Swedish legend Bjorn Borg wore Fila at the peak of his career winning the Wimbledon title 5 times in the brand. It didn’t take long for the brand to become popular with football casuals throughout the UK and Saturday afternoons were a catwalk of lads kitted out in Fila gear. It became a cult brand with anyone who was trendy and Wham and iconic front man George Michael were regularly seen in Fila.
It’s now almost 2010 and Fila is back in a massive way with the Fila Vintage collection which is reissues of the classic styles from the late 70s and 80s. Nick Loves film the business heavily featured the brand with Danny Dyer wearing Fila Vintage in most scenes. This year Love remade the classic 80s football hooligan film The Firm again where again Fila Vintage gear was to be seen in most scenes and this has made the brand mega popular with the youth of today. If you want a bit of Fila Vintage yourself get on http://www.not-addicted.co.uk/ and get some on your back.
