Fila Vintage Clothing Still On The Terraces!!
Fila was born in Italy in 1911. It wasn’t until 1973 really to be established and then became a firm favourite clothing label on the tennis courts. The Swedish legend Bjorn Borg wore Fila Clothing at the peak of his career winning the Wimbledon title 5 times in the brand. It didn’t take long for the brand to become popular with football casuals throughout the UK and Saturday afternoons were a catwalk of lads kitted out in Fila Clothing. It became a cult fashion clothing brand with anyone who was trendy and Wham and iconic front man George Michael were regularly seen in Fila Clothing.
Years later Fila Vintage was launched as a Heritage Fashion clothing brand reissuing the famous tracksuit tops, polo shirts, shorts etc from the archive Fila collections of the 80s. Fila Vintage was also heavily featured in Nick Loves hit film The Business where Danny Dyer and Tamer Hassan would be wearing a tracksuit top, polo shirt, shorts or some item of the Fila vintage clothing in most scenes. Then a few years later Love remade the cult 80s football hooligan film The Firm which again featured masses of Fila Vintage clothing, with some of the most sought after and rare Tracksuit tops, Polo Shirts, Shorts and other Fila Vintage clothing around.
Now Fila Vintage is again a very established clothing label on the casual scene with some of the older lads who had worn an original Fila BJ Tracksuit Top back in the day now finding himself again buying a Tracksuit Top and the younger lads who weren’t even born the first time Fila hit the terraces are wearing Fila Vintage on Saturday afternoon at the match.
