Sergio Tacchini has been an Italian Davis Cup Champion from 1959 to 1966, the year he set up the company Sergio Tacchini to produce and distribute sports clothing and footwear. He started out by providing clothing for his former team mates and put colour onto Sergio Tacchini tennis tracksuit tops, polo shirts and shorts for the first time.

In the seventies, the first coloured tennis-wear collection makes its appearance at Wimbledon when an unforgettable Jimmy Connors wins the tournament. In 1978 comes great intuition: Sergio Tacchini secure an 8-year clothing contract with the rising star of world tennis John McEnroe. In the eighties the sponsorship permits Sergio Tacchini to gain placing on the international market: Ille Nastase, Vitas Gerulatis, Mats Wilander, Pat Cash, Pete Sampras and Gabriela Sabatini are just some of the testimonials who have contributed to taking Sergio Tacchini brand to the top of the tennis world.

Sergio Tacchini also dressed the best in the business in many other areas of the sports world. Another major scene of the sports world was the terraces of many football clubs in the eighties, soccer casuals from every corner of England and Scotland would don their Sergio Tacchini Tracksuit Tops, Polo Shirts and other clothing on a Saturday afternoon for the match in awe, to out-dress rival supporters.

Away from the world of sports many cool icons including various bands starting and following retro sportswear fashions have regularly been seen swaggering around in the famous Sergio Tacchini label.

Sergio Tacchini is again looked upon as a must have cool clothing brand for dressers old and young. Nick Loves hit film The Business featured Sergio Tacchini Clothing very heavily not many Scenes went by when Danny Dyer or Tamer Hassan weren’t wearing a Sergio Tacchini Tracksuit Top, Polo Shirt, Shorts or some item of clothing.
